About Us

With its corporate history dating back to 1973, the company began operations as Control Systems, an Authorized Representative of Robertshaw Controls Company, headquarted in Richmond, Virginia. Since 1975, Controls Systems has been known as Alabama Controls, Inc. In 1990 both Barber Colman Company and Robertshaw Company had been purchased by Siebe, PLC of the United Kingdom. Robertshaw and Barber Coleman merged to form Siebe Environmental Controls. Siebe merged with British Tire and Rubber and renamed the company Invensys. The control division was Invensys Building Systems. Invensys building Systems was purchased by Schneider Electric in 2006, and is now part of TAC.

As an Authorized Representative of TAC, Alabama Controls, Inc. performs as a controls contractor providing all actions necessary to complete total installation of temperature control and automation contracts by bidding, engineering, supervising and installing control and automation contract jobs on their own profit and loss basis.

To date, Alabama Controls, Inc. has completed over 7,000 contract installations and service projects. Customers include hospitals, schools, colleges, churches, military installations and private owners of all types in the United States and 14 different countries.
